Hughes Performance is excited to announce the addition of two new locking dipstick and filler tube assemblies to our product line!
We are excited to announce the release of our new shallow cast aluminum pan for 4L80E transmissions! This pan is available under part number HP2582. The kit includes the oil pan, drain plug, bolts, washers, filter, and gasket. The HP2582 pan features stock GM fluid capacity, and is ideally suited for customers that desire the superior sealing characteristics of our cast aluminum pan but do not have the extra ground clearance for our deep HP2580 pan. This pan is a great choice for lowered muscle cars and hot rods utilizing a 4L80E transmission. The new HP2582 pan features an overall height of 3-1/16″. This dimension is only 1/4″ taller than a stock GM stamped steel pan, and is a full 1-3/8″ shorter than our deep HP2580 pan.
Hughes Performance has your high horsepower 4L80E solution! Our new Extreme Duty 4L80E/4L85E input shaft is rated for use with 1,500+ flywheel horsepower, and comes standard in every one of our Heavy Duty (HD) series and Extreme Duty (XD) series 4L80E transmissions. This superior new input shaft is available under part number HP2514. This premium shaft is manufactured from a billet of 300M steel. As part of the manufacturing process each HP2514 input shaft is subjected to a multi-stage heat treatment process and then finished with a unique nitriding treatment which gives the shaft its distinctive black appearance.
New TH400 reverse pattern manual valve body with engine braking now available! Hughes Performance is now offering a full manual valve body with reverse shift pattern and full engine braking in all forward gears under part number HP2211EBR for the TH400 transmission. The reverse shift pattern in this valve body is P-R-N-1-2-3. This valve body is an excellent choice for off-road applications that can benefit from being able to rapidly cycle from low gear to reverse and back with the reverse shift pattern all while still retaining engine braking in all forward ranges for maximum braking ability while decelerating downhill or on an off-road race course. Congratulations are in order for veteran PSCA Hot Street racer Vic Brum! Vic won the Hot Street class in his show-stopping 1970 Chevelle at the Pacific Street Car Association Record Breaker Nationals at Las Vegas Motor Speedway last weekend.
Victory came with the assistance of a Hughes Performance Pro-V series 9.5″ torque converter and Pro Series Powerglide transmission. Vic ran a best E.T. of 8.224 and also claimed high MPH for the event with a best of 164.93 MPH.

Chris Alston’s Chassisworks very own Chris Alston Jr. picked up the XDR/TT5 win at the Pacific Street Car Association NorCal Nats. This event marked the second race in the PSCA’s 7-race 2014 schedule.
This bad-to-the-bone Chevy II is packing plenty of Vortech Superchargers-assisted Hemi punch, all channeled through a Hughes Performance XP4 Powerglide transmission and Hughes Performance Heads Up Radial Tire billet torque converter.
Not only was Chris the event winner, he was also #1 qualifier in the class with a stellar 4.99 pass.
