Mike Jovanis Racks Up Another NMRA True Street Victory

Mike Jovanis scored yet another NMRA True Street class win at the 12th Annual NMRA Ford Nationals at Maryland International Raceway in Budds Creek, Maryland.  Mike turned in deadly consistent performance with his turbocharged Mustang resulting in a 9.010-second three-pass average.  Mike has been as fast as 8.48 at 166 MPH.  His Mustang is powered by a DiSomma Racing Engines 347 cubic inch small block Ford engine equipped with a PT8847 turbocharger, all of which is backed by a Hughes Performance 28-3X-80B2D Powerglide transmission.  The True Street racing format is unique in that it requires each competing vehicle to complete a 30-mile drive on the same day prior to the actual race, and then uses a system that averages each competitor's E.T. over three back-to-back passes down the quarter mile in order to determine the winner for each E.T. range within the class as well as the overall class winner.
